Following their appearance on Dragons’ Den on Wednesday 21st July, the duo behind shopbox have taken on board the feedback received and are confident they have a product which is destined for success.
Their appearance on the programme sparked much debate amongst the dragons. Most notably, Theo Paphitis raised concern about the safety of the product when he suggested a child could get locked inside the shopbox.
Although such an event would be unlikely, the design has now been changed to include an internal release system, allowing anyone trapped in a shopbox to get out immediately.
Andy Leslie, chief executive of shopbox said: “Appearing on Dragon’s Den was a real learning curve and one which we have fully embraced to support the product’s development. Although it was the first time this had been raised, it was a very valid point and as a result we have amended the design to make the product safer.
“Having secured funding, we are now all set for our launch on 1st September. We have established relationships with the major retailers and are confident that shopbox will be the future of online shopping.”
